The OnePlus 5 is definitely among one of the best smartphones right now.

OnePlus 5 is the thinnest among all OnePlus phones till date. It comes with a curved back which makes it comfortable to use. The front 3D Gorilla Glass 5 is also slightly curved. The antenna band is designed in such a way that it doesn’t tamper with the sleek design of the phone. The introduction of a silent switch makes it easier to control the device during a meeting or your bedtime. OnePlus has retained the legacy 3.5mm headphone jack in it’s new model. The OnePlus 5 offers two variations: the 64GB/6GB model is available in Slate Gray, whereas the 128GB/8GB version is available in Midnight Black.

OnePlus 5 comes with a full HD 5.5-inch AMOLED screen which is 1080p, contrary to the quad-HD resolution. Also the 401 pixels per inch takes your viewing experience to a whole new level. The Gorilla Glass 5 provides protection against scratches. The AMOLED screen provides that added depth to blacks which is missing in any LCD.

The OnePlus 5 comes with Android 7.1.1 which can be upgraded to Android O. The Snapdragon 835 steals the show, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM, which lets you enjoy 3D gaming like never before. OnePlus 5 manages it’s components very efficiently. You also have the option to turn off those annoying notifications while you are in the middle of your battle.

The OnePlus 5 comes with a dual-lens camera. The 16MP + 20MP lens at the rear provides lossless zoom along with a 16MP camera on the front. OnePlus 5 has improved a lot in this area with lots of added features packed into the camera. The primary camera lens comes with an aperture of f/1.7 ensuring your photos are not overexposed to light. Whereas the telephoto lens comes with an aperture of f/2.6. Now you can easily shoot objects at a distance.

The OnePlus 5 is powered by a non-removable 3300mAh battery. The Dash Charge feature allows you to charge the phone till its full, from dead, in about an hour. You can also use the phone while charging without any heating.

Let’s have a quick look at some of it’s pros and cons.

  • Sensational performance
  • Superb camera
  • Dash Charge feature
  • Superior design

  • microSD not supported
  • Wi-fi and audio are not as expected
  • Costlier than previous models

Priced at ₹30,900, though it’s a bit costlier than the previous models, but there is no reason to feel disappointed. If you want a smartphone to shoot sensational images and run applications without much lagging, this one is for you.
