New Colourful Update for your WhatsApp Text Status
Now update your status with a colourful font, background and emoji combinations
WhatsApp has come up with coloured text statuses after it’s testing in beta for a while, for it’s Android and iPhone apps. Facebook introduced this feature first on its Android app late last year, which allowed users to update their status with a colourful font, background and emoji combinations. The coloured text feature would be rolled out to all Android and iPhone users, WhatsApp has confirmed.
However, some users have not been able to see this feature going live even after they have updated their app to the latest version. However it has been remotely activated on Android and iOS and it’s full-fledged rollout is still being awaited.
How does the new feature of WhatsApp status work?
While some users have already seen the feature with the latest update of their WhastApp app, others will be seeing the pop up very soon.
Now iPhone users can see the pen icon adjacent to the camera icon placed in the new Status bar. You can easily update your status, choose an emoji, font along with the background colour by a single click on the pen icon. You can simply click the green arrow key for sending the text status after you have completed writing it and making your changes, just like sending any media content now. WhatsApp will publish your status after that to all your contacts for viewing.
Android users can find the floating pen icon at the bottom of the Status tab, right above the camera icon.
Unfortunately, Windows Phone won’t be supporting this feature of WhatsApp. And as of now, users can only view the text statuses but can’t create them.
The new feature will have an advanced chat search feature and more stickers!
Furthermore, the new update of WhatsApp on iPhone will be supporting more stickers now. It will also be coming with an advanced chat search feature too. The stickers are disabled as of now, but will be made active in the future releases.
Also the WhatsApp v2.17.50 for iPhone provides options such as italicise, bold and strikethrough text within the typing bar. You can just select from the floating options that appear when you tap and hold the text you want to format.
