JBL Launches Smart Speakers With Boombox, Google Assistant and More at IFA 2017
JBL has launched several new products at the IFA 2017 trade show, Berlin, which includes JBL Free wireless earbuds similar to Apple AirPods, JBL Link speakers powered by Google Assistant, JBL UA Sports Wireless Train headphones, a JBL Boombox speaker, JBL Bar studio soundbar speakers and more.
JBL Link series
All the JBL Link series speakers come with Google Assistant, which can be activated and configured on the Link series speakers either by saying “Ok, Google” for performing further actions or by pressing a button at the top. There is also inbuilt Chromecast support. The JBL Link series includes – Link 10, Link 20 and Link 300.
A rechargeable battery powers the JBL Link 10 and Link 20 speakers that can deliver upto six hours of playback. However the Link 300 speaker runs on AC power instead. The Link 10 comes with two 8W speakers, Link 20 features 10W speakers, while the Link 300 has a 50W speaker. The Link 10 and Link 20 are portable speakers with waterproofing IPX7 certification, but Link 300 is made for home use. All these speakers come with Wi-Fi connectivity that can be synchronized for better audio performance.
JBL Free Wireless Earbuds
The JBL Free earbuds, similar to Apple’s AirPods, can be your perfect companion when you are on the go. The battery can be charged within 15 minutes and can support playback of up to four hours. There is also a microphone which helps you for taking up calls easily. JBL is offering two silicon sleeves and two additional comfort-fit eartips along with the earbuds.
JBL Boombox Speaker
JBL has also launched a Boombox speaker which does not support Google Assistant. The JBL Boombox is 20 inches in length with a weight of around 5kg. It is a Bluetooth speaker that comes with two bass radiators and four active transducers. It’s mammoth 20000mAh battery can support playback upto an entire day and is aslo IPX7 waterproof. The two USB ports can be doubled up as charging points for your smartphone.
JBL UA Sports Wireless Train headphones
This is another one from JBL’s wireless wearable audio device category – JBL UA Sport Wireless Train headphones, launched with Under Armour’s partnership. You can choose the colour of the headphone of your choice with the Under Armour’s proprietary SuperVent fabric covering the headphones. It comes with a ‘Speed Charge Battery’ that can be charged within 5 minutes and support playback upto an hour.
JBL Bar Studio Soundbar Speakers
Other products launched by JBL include JBL Bar Studio speakers consisting of four soundbars similar to home theatres. The top-of-the-line JBL Bar 5.1 soundbar can provide sensational stereo surround sound that detaches the rear speakers into two. It also features three 4K HDMI inputs, a 510W of total system power, DTS decoding and a 10-inch wireless subwoofer. Bar 2.1, Bar 3.1 and Bar STUDIO are the other three models.
JBL has also launched JBL Junior, JBL Reflect Fit and JBL E65BTNC – all supporting wireless connectivity.
